OUR STORY

Rooted in
Yamazaki.

Between Kyoto and Osaka,
in the historic town of Yamazaki.

Founded in 1869, Sansyotei has a history as an inn known for its cuisine. Today, our fifth-generation proprietor, 酒井亮, carries on that culinary tradition.

At its heart is our signature tempura, fried in oil offered at Rikyu Hachimangu Shrine. We prepare seasonal ingredients with care, one dish at a time.

Where is Sansyotei?

Our address is 1 Nishitani, Oyamazaki, Oyamazaki-cho, Otokuni-gun, Kyoto. We are about a 1-minute walk from Yamazaki Station on the JR Kyoto Line and about a 5-minute walk from Oyamazaki Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line.

What are your opening hours and closing days?

Lunch is served from 12:00 to 14:00 (last orders 13:30). Dinner is served Tuesday–Saturday from 17:00 to 21:00 (last orders 20:00). Sundays are lunch only. We are closed on Mondays, but open on public holidays with a substitute closing day. Occasional additional closures apply, so please confirm before visiting.

How can I make a reservation?

Please call +81 75 956 0217 during opening hours or contact us through our official LINE account. Let us know your preferred date, party size and dishes. Sending a message alone does not confirm a reservation.

Is parking available?

Dedicated parking is available within the grounds of Rikyu Hachimangu Shrine. Please ask the restaurant where to park.

What kind of food do you serve?

Our signature dish is tempura fried in oil offered at Rikyu Hachimangu Shrine. We serve tempura rice bowls, gozen set meals and kaiseki courses. In spring, we also offer bamboo shoot dishes from the Otokuni area. Please ask about seasonal availability and dishes.
